Spring is in the air, and so is the smell of savory BBQ and high-flying seaplanes at the City of Tavares' 17th Annual Planes, Tunes & BBQ on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st. Bring the family to Wooton Park, Tavares and enjoy the free entertainment such as LIVE MUSIC, WATER SKI SHOWS, DRONE SHOW, SEAPLANE CONTESTS & more!
We will kick off the festivities on Friday evening with live music, BBQ, and assorted food and merchandise vendors. Central FL singer/songwriter REECE will open the show with his unique country sound, then Nashville recording artist, MAGGIE BAUGH, will be making a stop on her “Entertainers Heart” World Tour performing songs like “Dear Me” from her debut album and showing off her proficiency on multiple instruments! Since Maggie last performed here in Tavares in 2023, she caught the attention of Keith Urban who asked her to join him in 2024 as his utility player on tour. In the past year, Maggie has appeared on CMT Awards, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, the Today Show and performed on stages from the Country Music Hall of Fame to Nissan Stadium. Ending 2024, the independent artist made her Grand ole Opry debut and landed her a standing ovation. Maggie looks forward to releasing a new album and hitting the road on her “Entertainers Heart” World Tour!
On Saturday, the vendors will be ready to serve you while seaplane pilots participate in our Seaplane-A-Palooza flying competitions. You don't want to miss the crowd's favorite "melon bomb drop"! Following the contests, DEREK TRULL AND EASYSTREET will perform a variety of country, rock and blues favorites and the TAMPA BAY WATER SKI SHOW TEAM returns to Tavares for the first time in over a decade with some of the best show skiers in the world to perform not one, but TWO spectacular ski shows! Next up will be a high energy performance by Florida’s very own, THE SHAELYNN BAND, with classic soulful blues, funk and rock that are sure to get you moving’ and grooving’! During intermission and back by popular demand will be our state-of-the-art, dazzling Drone Show, featuring 100 MORE drones!
Wrapping up the festivities, will be a spine-tingling, soul-lifting performance by international touring artist, WELSHLY ARMS! From jazz to soul, gospel to blues, rock to alternative and everything in between, Welshly Arms is known for smooth melodies, momentous choruses, bold guitar instrumentation and slick production techniques.
