The Miracle League is a baseball league for physically and mentally disabled people of all ages. The league is not just about playing baseball. It’s about building self-confidence and self-esteem, making new friends, developing social skills, and making dreams come true. We like to call it, "a social activity loosely wrapped around the game of baseball!"
We accept any person with a physical or mental disability. The league was created to give disabled people an opportunity to play baseball, so we've adapted one general rule to determine eligibility. If your player is capable of playing in traditional baseball leagues, then they are probably not suited for the Miracle League.
More info:
*People of all ages are welcome to participate.
*There are fall & spring seasons, each season lasting approximately 10 weeks. The seasons always end on the weekends preceeding Memorial Day and Thanksgiving, so to find the start of a season, back up 10 weeks from there on your calendar!
*Each player is accompanied by a Buddy on the field. The role of the Buddy is to help teach the players the game and to assist with their safety on the field - not to mention to make new friends.
*Games last approximately two innings... in each inning every player gets an opportunity to bat! We are there for the fun of it - no one keeps score, and there are no outs - they are all winners!
