Japanese Culture Day at the Leesburg Public Library

  • When: Friday, July 18, 2025,  1:00 pm -  4:00 pm
  • Location: Leesburg Public Library
  • Cost: Free

Join us for an afternoon of tradition, art, and celebration at the Leesburg Public Library’s Japanese Culture Day, held in partnership with the Arching Oaks Japanese Arts and Culture Center. This special event honors the spirit of Tanabata, or Star Festival—a celebration of hope, beauty, and cultural connection.

Enjoy a rich lineup of activities for all ages:
• A captivating Japanese travelogue presentation
• Live Kyudo (Japanese archery) and Iaido (swordsmanship) demonstrations in the amphitheater
• Origami workshop
• Make your wish come true by hanging a tanzaku on our Tanabata Wishing Tree

Guests can also sample and take home authentic Japanese snacks and treats.
Whether you're curious about Japanese culture or want to celebrate a beloved tradition, we invite you to take part in this unforgettable cultural experience.
All programming at the Leesburg Public Library is free.
