All About Florida Bears at WT Bland Library

2:30 PM Bear lab for children!
Florida black bears are found in both Lake and Orange counties. Kylie O. Henslick, Central Area Bear Biologist with Florida Wildlife Commission, will be hosting an educational workshop for all ages, and will bring a bear hide (from a traffic fatality), bear trap and a bear-resistant trash lid. She will also demonstrate how FWC tracks wildlife with radio collars and transmitter darts, with a short radio telemetry exercise. A question and answer session will follow. No registration required.
Children and their grown-ups are invited to stay for a children’s Bear Lab, for more bear activities and a free, new book for children to take home (first 100)!
