Neighborhoods throughout Sumter County are being invited to join forces as a community for "National Night Out" crime and drug prevention event!
National Night Out is a community building campaign designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for and participation in local anticrime efforts; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
From 5:30-9 pm on October 3rd, residents in neighborhoods throughout Sumter County and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights and spend the evening outside with local businesses, law enforcement and your fellow Sumter County citizens.
