The Spring Affaire at the Avian Reconditioning Center combines Renaissance Faire fun with a focus on conservation and education about birds of prey. Here's what you can expect at this special event:
Flight Demonstrations: Get up close to majestic birds of prey during captivating flight demonstrations.
Themed Activities: Enjoy period themed costumes, live music, sword fighting, archery and immersive experiences that transport you back in time, presented by Barony of Darkwater, Central Florida’s chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Take part in interactive games and challenges that combine Renaissance Faire themes with bird of prey conservation.
Bird of Prey Education: Learn about different species of birds of prey, their habitats, and the importance of conservation through educational displays and talks. Get insights into the work of the Avian Reconditioning Center and discover how you can make a difference in protecting these incredible birds.
Artisans: Discover a variety of artisans and vendors showcasing crafts, artwork, and handmade products. From apparel to arts and crafts to unique gifts, there will be plenty of items for you to admire and purchase.
Merchandise: Support the Avian Reconditioning Center by purchasing our merchandise featuring birds of prey. Get some great souvenirs and support us at the same time! Profits from sales go directly to the center to help support our mission.

Crown Craft $5.00: Craft your own crown to wear at our event! For kids and kids at heart.
Photo With A Bird $10.00: Immortalize the day with a photo next to a beautiful bird of prey, escorted by their handler dressed in Renaissance garb. Includes a digital copy of the photo by our photographer.
Knighting Ceremony $10.00: Be knighted by our Queen! Includes a digital photo of your knighting ceremony by our photographer and an announcement during the event.
Owl Experience Add-on up to 4 People $50.00: Get up close and personal with Henry the barn owl! With this add-on experience:
You meet a general falconer and learn about the sport of falconry
You hold a barn owl on your gloved hand with instruction from a falconer
We will take a picture of the experience with your phone
The experience will last up to 20 minutes, but we reserve the right to end sooner for any reason. The experience is limited to a group of 4 people at a time, with only one individual in the group being the primary guest handler. Before the end of your session, Henry can pose on each person’s gloved hand for a picture.
Falcon Experience Add-on up to 4 People $50.00: Get up close and personal with Ford, an aplomado falcon! With this add-on experience:
