 nce at its annual Memorial Day Ceremony.<br /><br />This solemn observance 
 honors the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to the 
 United States.<br /><br />The ceremony will open with the Presentation of C
 olors by the Umatilla High School Army JROTC, followed by the Pledge of All
 egiance led by Mayor James Homich.<br /><br />Featured speaker Commander La
 urie Turner, representing VFW Post 8087, will share remarks paying tribute 
 to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.<br /><br />The program will also 
 include a patriotic performance of the National Anthem and Taps by Mount Do
 ra Police Department Corporal Darla Oringderf. Immediately following the ce
 remony, members of VFW Post 8087 and Boy Scout Troop 19 will place flags on
  gravestones.
