Creative Kids Art Camp

Keep your children engaged throughout the school year with our Creative Kids Art Camp program. Each week, students will explore different art processes and try their hands at something new.  From painting to sculpting to print making, your child will develop their love and appreciation for the arts with the guidance and support of our certified art teachers.

Spring Art Camp Refund Policy

All refund requests must be made in writing. A full refund, less a $25 handling fee, will be made if written notice is provided within 7 days of the class starting date. No refund, no exceptions, will be made within the 7 days before the first day of the session. No refunds are available for unused days of a session.

Changes to a Registration
Changes to a registration, such as transferring to a different week than originally selected, incurs a $25 handling fee and is based on class availability.

Art Camp Safety Concerns

Masks may or may not be worn by students and instructors. Although social distancing will be encouraged when possible, there may be times when students and instructors will be in close proximity to each other. If you need special attention, let the instructors know.  Please do not bring your child to camp if they experience cold or flu like symptoms. 

Fee Schedule: $225. Before care 8am / After care until 4:30pm $50.

 No refunds or prorations. All supplies are included.

June 3 - 7 / June 10 - 14 / June 17 - 21 / June 24 - 28 / July 8 - 12 / July 15 - 19 / July 22 - 26

It’s time again to register for another fun-filled summer of Art inspired creativity here at MDCA!  What will your kiddos be doing this summer? We have some exciting plans for them this summer including some cultural in town field trips, performance art segments, & some surprise visits from some special furry guests!

Summer Art Camp 2024 Themes

Week 1 June 3-7
STARLIT DREAMS & ROCKET BEAMS

In this out of this world week, campers will journey into their imaginations to paint beautiful starry nights and sculpt rockets to journey to planets that may or may not be inhabited by other living beings. Jump on board and let’s explore the creative universe!
Week 2 June 10-14
CREATURE CULTURE

Animals are loved by people everywhere and they are depicted in many art styles around the world. Take a trip with us as we “visit” different countries and see how their local wildlife is represented through style and color from a brightly sculptured gecko from Mexico to the airy watercolor koi of Japan.
Week 3 June 17-21
MAGICAL MERMAIDS & SEA MONSTERS
Join us on an artistic ocean inspired voyage where the projects are drawn from the beach and sea. Dive into fun projects like a papier-mâché shark, sea life mobile sculpture, and boat building.
Week 4 June 24-28
MINI MASTERS

Kids become mini masters while experimenting with art media and techniques used by famous artists. While learning about art history, campers will expand their creative horizons by painting like Pablo Picasso, sculpting like Jeff Koons, and collaging like Kurt Schwitters.
Week 5 July 8-12
APPETITE FOR ART

Dig in! This week of camp will feature art projects inspired by delicious foods and snacks. Campers will learn several art techniques while cooking up projects like still art fruit bowl drawings and banana split sculptures.
Week 6 July 15-19
SAND, SURF & ART

Beach inspired art will be this week’s them. From Sandpipers, Surfboards, Sandcastles &
Sunshine. We will be painting, drawing & sculpting all kinds of Beach Themed works of art.
Week 7 July 22-26 MUSIC & MEMORIES
This week we will be celebrating the arts and how they impact our community through music, dance, & visual arts. We may also visit some local studios & artists for inspiration! (Walking distance)

For many, Art Camp creates wonderful, happy memories that can foster a lifelong love of art in developing children.  Mount Dora Center for the Arts would like to extend this opportunity to more young people who may not be able to otherwise enjoy art camp due to financial constraints.   

We invite you to join in our efforts to help facilitate Art Camp experiences for all children and young artists by donating to our Art Camp Outreach Program.

Your tax-deductible contribution helps to fund our no-cost art program, instructors, and supplies.

Art Camp SCHOLARSHIPS

Mount Dora Center for the Arts provides scholarships to assist aspiring young artists with specialized art instruction who might otherwise be unable to receive it. To qualify for a scholarship, you must earn a low income in relation to the size of your household, and your children must demonstrate a sincere interest (although not necessarily a skill) in art.
