Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HSLC!
 

Requirments

  • All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Youth ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a guardian for all volunteer sessions.

  • Volunteers must be able to read and comprehend detailed policy and protocol information as well as being able to remember and follow shelter rules.

  • Volunteers must be able to understand and fulfill all responsibilities of their role independently.  If an individual cannot volunteer on their own, we may require that someone comes to assist.  

     

Volunteer Opportunities 

  • ​Cat Area

    • ​grooming

    • playing & socializing with cats and kittens

  • Dog Area

    • leashing up and walking large and small dogs

    • play yard socialization with large and small dogs

    • grooming large or small dogs

    • training large or small dogs

  • Resale Shop

    • donation sorting

    • cashier

    • helping in-store customers

    • answering phones

  • Fundraising

    • contact our shelter to discuss opportunities

  • Facility Maintenance / Odd Jobs

  • Yard / Garden Maintenance
